FACING THE END OF THE PROJECT: VALIDATION AND RESULTS
After 25 months of enriching, high-value added work, the ALGAEMAX project has reached its end last 31st October.
The previous months before the end of the technical tasks have been really busy and exciting for the ALGAEMAX team. After a General Meeting held in Barcelona last July, where new partner SALATA was introduced to the rest of the team, the different SMEs and RTDs have worked together in order to close the final details of the ALGAEMAX prototype.
The validation of the prototype was held, as accorded, in partner SALATA’s all-year round production facilities in the region of Thuringia (Germany). The validation took place throughout October 2014.
The validation tests allowed the partners to evaluate the robustness of the flow cell to work in an industrial environment and to fine tune the ultrasound system for optimal performance.
The validation activities start with a training session from RTDs to the technical staff at SALATA on the operation of the prototype. For one week, the system operated under the optimal conditions.
The results of the tests were promising and allowed the consortium to fully evaluate the potential of the technology and outline the roadmap for further development and future industrialization.
